The Audition process:
- The plan for the day will be to begin with the audition for the production with chorus singing and lines.
- After this potential principals should stay behind for principal auditions. Many people will be involved in the auditioning scenes at once. People will probably read more than once, as I like to hear auditionees read against each other - so shouldn't disappear (if you have to, let us know).
- I don't mind if auditionees hold the audition piece as a prompt, but they wont impress if they are just reading from it.
- I suggest, if people want to try accents, that it is the slightest hint - rather than caked on.
- Some movement will be required for the production. A short piece will be practised at the sing throughs, and all auditionees will be asked to perform this during the auditions to allow the choreographer to gauge abilities.
